A CONGREGATION'S BASIC NEEDS
Most of the problems can be categorized into the following groups: Marriage, Children, other Relationships, Health, Employment, and Finances.
Marriages – Give them teaching from God's Word to help them deal with the challenges they face at home every single day. They want their marriage to work, but they don't know how to deal with the conflicts, emotions, and scars in their souls. You need to provide them with solid answers from the Word of God.
Children – Tell them what the Bible says about discipline, training, respect, honor, and submission to authority. The world offers no sound solutions. Parents need counsel and answers from the Word of God.
Other Relationships – They are often hurt, offended, deeply grieved, and struggling in their souls in relationships with parents, siblings, co-workers, or friends. Most of them do not know how to get over it by themselves. The Word of God can direct them.
Health – Poor eating habits, wrong living, or genetic disposition may be the cause. Regardless of why they are physically struggling, you need to point them to answers in God's Word that will help them repent if necessary. Show them how to get back on the path to the wholeness Jesus purchased for them at the Cross.
Employment – It's your responsibility to present guidance from God's Word that will help them in the choices and decisions they make. Perhaps they don't get along with their boss or fellow employees, or maybe they feel that they are unjustly paid. Perhaps they are being offered a better job in another city and they are confused about what to do. You have a God-given opportunity to share principles from God's Word that will help them make wise choices about their future and learn how to submit to their authority figures, wherever God places them in life. You can be a great help to them if you will teach them what God's Word says about these topics.
Finances – Even the most successful people face financial challenges from time to time. God's Word offers many answers to difficult and complex financial challenges.
