Hope To entertain a good opinion. To believe well when there may be some dark appearances and when present evidence is not clear. To stretch its faith beyond appearances for support of an opinion of hope. It delights to entertain the best expectations, even when met with repeated disappointment.

Romans 8:24-25 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Hebrews 6:18-20 (The Message) We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It's an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.

It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
